Stock: Trail Runner Magazine

A photograph we made last summer in the current (June) issue of Trail Runner Magazine. The image was licensed as a stock photo to illustrate a short article about the benefits of trekking poles. A brief look into how stock photography works: We shot some trekking pole work last summer on a day hike in Southcentral Alaska. The magazine’s photo editor sends out a regular call for images to illustrate upcoming departments and features. Since we are on the e-mailing list, we see that he needs stock photos for a bit on trekking poles. A digital submission is put together and posted to online for review. High-res files are sent via ftp after the editor makes his selects. About three months later…
