Across Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains for Black Diamond

Last summer we dove into the rugged Sawtooth Mountain Range near Stanley, Idaho to shoot a campaign for Black Diamond Equipment. Our team navigated a hundred-mile traverse of the range that connected several high passes and a few craggy peaks, including Thompson Peak, the highest in the range at 10,751 ft. The mission was to produce photo and video work that showcased BD’s line of trekking and backpacking gear in an authentically challenging environment. The Sawtooth’s delivered with a handful of crux sections. Impassable ridge lines and exposed summits forced us to change course several times over the week. But perseverance has it’s rewards. Camping high in Thompson Pass was one of the most amazing places we’ve ever spent the night. And the hot springs down along the Salmon River offered up the perfect remedy for tired muscles and sore feet afterward.

Special thanks to Backpacker’s Pantry, GoalZero and Ninkasi Brewing Company for continuing to sponsor our endeavors. You guys are the best!
