Even though our robust travel schedule might say otherwise, our home base is in Southcentral Alaska. Just down the highway, the whole region is a temperate rain forest with some towns measuring the annual amounts of ‘liquid sunshine’ in feet not inches. So yeah, this is a good place to shoot rainwear.
The outdoor brand High Sierra recruited us for a handful of apparel shoots recently, including their latest rain jackets and pants. This is a widely known brand that appeals to a more casual user group than we’re used to. The photography needed to speak to that audience.
We cast from our pool of friends in area and shot two different days: one kinda rainy and one full on downpour. All the while making sure there was a sense that the talent was enjoying their day out together, no matter how ridiculous the weather.
