Anchorage based writer Joe Stock and I embarked on an adventure to make the first ski descent of Mt Chamberlin; the highest peak in the 500-mile long Brooks Range. At the project’s onset, we couldn’t believe that the crest of such a major mountain range had never been skied. But after months of logistics planning and three-hours crammed into a single engine Helio Courier, we started to understand the challenges at hand.
Selection of work from our most recent magazine assignment; a week-long fast and light trek along the Arizona Trail. The project was to highlight the southern portion of the AZT as a winter destination for ultra-light ‘fast’ packing. Carrying 15-pound packs, we photographed just over 120-miles during our six-days on the trail.
